Among those, we pay tribute to the first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice. We will be forever indebted to the 343 FDNY firefighters, 60 NYPD/PAPD police officers (to recognize all 72 law enforcement officers from all agencies who lost their life, ) , 8 EMS workers, and the member of Fire Patrol 2 who gave their lives in serving to save others.
